Message housing already has a threaded hole for it right after the turbine. My measurements there border on 900 deg C, which I have heard should be my upper limit. Now one of my EGT sensors died so rather than pull the whole engine to put another sensor in the passenger side turbo, I put one in about an inch forward of the 02 sensor on my Greg Dupree downpipes. I think this is roughly 1 - 1.5" behind the original position. Not much of a difference in location, but a big difference in temperature. At lower temps it is roughly 100 degs C cooler and at high temps, it is almost 150 degs C.

I use to be right at the limit and sometimes go slightly over the 900 deg C mark, until I installed Aquamist and now I have some margin. I think it was 10 - 15 deg C.

Also, advancing timing from 15 deg to approx 18.5 deg decreased EGT's by roughly 80 deg C.
